We were on the road for what seemed a long time. But, I won't lie to you, half of it was for vacation also. We traveled along the coast of California and Colin took me on a whistle stop tour of hot spots I had never seen. Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez, Solvang, The Hearst Castle, Lake Tahoe, Reno, Truckee, Carmel, Sausalito, San Francisco and Monterrey. It was a great time and I am so glad I saw this part of our country.

Okay, we did work. We visited some of our great accounts and it is always wonderful to see their stores. In some of the stores, we were really fortunate to meet some of their best customers. We would no sooner take Double D out of the clothes bags and the jewelry and it created quite the frenzy. Remember, on our website, www.materialthingsinc.com, there is an opportunity to write about your store and even scan a pic or two. Take advantage of this, we all need the free advertisement with a great audience especially.

This is a first for us, so wish us luck! We are packing our bags for California. Double D Ranchwear and jewelry is what we want to sell, not looking for movie stars. But oil would be fine, Texas Tea!
 
We will be arriving into Santa Barbara on May 18th. It better still be there. Santa Ynez on the same day. We would like to come by your store and say "Hi."
 
Have you seen Double D Fall 1 and Fall 2? It is fabulous and has been selling off the charts. Please see our website, which is, www.materialthingsinc.com. We scanned every style and color for Fall 2009 on the website.
 
Also, we have all of the pillows and bedding. They are wonderful! The photos of the pillows and bedding are on line as well. In addition, we will have all of the jewelry designers,Coreen Cordova, Vintage Revival, Kim Yubeta, Don Lucas and Del Corazon.
 
We also want to introduce you to Juan Antonio handbags. We fell in love. Please view our website in the next couple of days. My goal is to get all of the Moulin Rouge Handbag pictures scanned in for your orders. There are too many to take to California. We do very, very well with them.
 
Solvaing is our next stop and then San Luis Obispo. We will also be in San Simeon, "think we can sell to Hearst's Castle?" I've never seen Carmel, Monterray, Pebble Beach, Burlingame, Merced, and then who knows?
 
The last stop on this whistle stop tour will be in Stockton to see Colin's parents and then Lake Tahoe. Have I worn anyone out yet?
 
This is just California. Then we will be doing the June Women's Apparel Show in the Dallas Merchandise Mart. The dates for that show are June 4th-7th. Our room number is 14595. Tyler will be traveling through the rest of the State of Texas and he will be also driving through Oklahoma and Kansas on his way home to Denver.
 
Shelli and Colin will also be traveling to Albuquerque, Taos, Ruidoso, New Mexico, and through the Rocky Mountain's.
 
We have registered to have our own booth in the Cody Show at the Denver Merchandise Mart, June 26-28th. This is suppose to be a great show! Never know until you try.

Tyler just returned from seeing as many of you as he could in Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Idaho. What he discovered and conveyed to us, is that times seem to be tougher there than Arizona and Texas.

We got off the road late last night just in time for Tyler to repack the van and be "On the Road Again," for two weeks. He will be in Montana from April 22nd to April 28th. Then he will be in Idaho from the 29th-30th. Next is Utah on May 1st through the 5th. Tyler will be leaving April 21st for at least two weeks. I think that means we might have to take care of Reggie (his boxer). He is going to completely travel through Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Idaho. We are encouraging everyone to call us and schedule him to come see you in order to have fall delivered in time for your store. 

The orders for the fleece jackets and the tee shirts are filling up our order forms. All the fleece pieces are only $99.00. There isn't a tee shirt over $55.00 and that is the "Big Chief, " that was the best seller for Fall 2008. The balance of the tees are not over $49.00.

We are back from our "On The Road Again," of Arizona. We would deem it successful. It was beneficial to all of us and our stores to see their stores and access what they might need including any merchandising.

With this blog, we encourage our stores to send us web ready photos so that we can post them to the blog. Fall 1 and 2 orders from Double D are very strong, considering the conditions of our economy, so there is great hope! Some of the stores are holding off on jewelry orders to they come into full season again which would be September or after. It will soon become too hot in Arizona for tourism. Coreen Cordova, one of our leading jewelry collections is offering a"Traveling Trunk Show." Coreen will send your store thousands of dollars of jewelry for you to have for 5-6 days. The beauty of this is that you may have a trunk show, introduce the collection to existing customers and new ones as well. The fee is completely nominal and you virtually have no costs or obligation to have her one of a kind pieces, pendants, charms and chains in your store. May is filled up and we are working on scheduling through the end of the year, so don't dilly dally, call us for your date.

Colin and Shelli will be in Santa Fe and Albuquerque from April 15th through the 19th doing our trunk show in Albuquerque and visiting our stores in Santa Fe. Please call us for an appointment to see Double D and any of the jewelry and handbag collections.
